Philadelphia, Pennsylvania Labor Law Poster
Effective July 1, 2026, the Minimum Wage Standard under Chapter 17-1300 of the Philadelphia Code is $17.63 per hour.
This rate applies to:
- New “Contracts,” including contracts, leases, concessions, franchises, financial-aid agreements, subcontracts, subleases, and subgrants at all levels, effective on or after July 1, 2026.
- Amendments and renewals of existing Contracts effective on or after July 1, 2026. For a Contract, amendment, or renewal effective before July 1, 2026, with a term of no more than one year, the Minimum Wage Standard will remain $16.82 through the end of that term.
- Contracts lasting longer than one year that were entered into on or after April 19, 2019, and have not since been renewed or amended.
This is not Philadelphia’s general minimum wage. It applies to certain businesses that contract with or receive financial assistance from the City of Philadelphia. Special rules may apply to older contracts, and applicable law may also require payment of prevailing wages.
